Deluxe Rod Shop might be a new name in the Hot Rod world but Tim Turner is no stranger to the industry.

At a young age Tim was introduced to cars by his father working on early Porsche’s and BMW’s, His love of customizing continued throughout his teenage years, building his first truck with a 4 link, big motor swap and custom paint at 17 years old.

After tech school he went to work for Clifton Slay of Avalanche Engineering of Denver, being the lead fabricator for Clifton he designed and built several high end vehicles that became the staple of the off road industry.

Tim received one of the coveted Mother Shine awards at SEMA for the excellence in automotive design for the ZL71 of Graham McKinley’s.

After several years Avalanche engineering changed its name to Poison Spyder Customs where Tim helped in prototyping and development of new industry leading products, he also put Clifton’s vision of a recreational off road vehicle into reality by designing and building the Bruiser Chassis. It is recognized worldwide and quickly became the best selling chassis in the industry. The bruiser has been cloned and copied but still stands at the top of the off road world.

Tim realized that he had gone to the top of the off road industry and felt it was time to take his skills into the world of Hot Rods.

Moving to Southern California to manage the fabrication shop at Hot Rods & Custom Stuff was a welcome change of pace for Tim, he gained great management skills being able to work on projects from the original renderings through fabrication, paint and the final assembly. While at Hot Rods & Custom Stuff Tim was able to work on some great high end hot rods and customs, gaining relationships with some great people in the industry.

Though living on the beach in Southern California and building bitchin cars was a dream, it was time for him to return home to Colorado, Tim decided to make the move back to Colorado to be closer to his friends and family.

Tim secured a fabrication position at Pinkee’s Rod Shop and was able to greatly expand his fabrication skills, he was involved with several great projects while at Pinkee’s that have won a multitude of awards and have been featured in several magazines.
